Lot’s Wife
Lot’s Wife is a modern tragedy inspired by Euripides’ Medea, depicting a world where a child becomes too much for a single mother, and the help she asks for is too much for a busy society.
The play explores both what happens when the desire for freedom overrides responsibility, and the enduring tragedy in which adult performance-driven culture leads to the destruction of children.
At the Tragedy Competition at Railway Square, the audience voted the performance as their favorite.
“The text presents a clear and recognizable theme with compelling verbal tensions, while the interpretation reflects a carefully considered physical layer and an original approach in which subconscious and structured themes meet in a constant state of challenge. The poetic and the raw, the divine and the banal are constantly intertwined. In the midst of sorrow, laughter liberates.” — Suna Vuori, Helsingin Sanomat
