Kolga
KOLGA is a place at the end of the world — “a map where everything happens.” A person walks to the shore, looks at the horizon. “For that moment, I am alone.”
KOLGA is a stage adaptation of Tommi Parkko’s Kolga poetry cycle, in which we transformed the poem’s verses into an auditory–spatial–visual performance.
“Ships pass through one another.” Different times and destinies intersect.
The first performance period of KOLGA took place in the basement of the International Bookstore in Helsinki. The performance toured at the Féile na Bealtaine festival in Ireland and in Milan at Spazio Teatro NO’HMA, as part of a competition between twelve European theatre groups, which Kolga won:
“The Il Teatro Nudo Award is granted to a performance that reveals the naked meanings of the human mind and explores the environment created by human beings with a curious and uncompromising attitude.”
